Registration Change: Temporary to General Register

A registrant who is currently registered on the Temporary Register and has successfully completed the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination (CDRE) and has conferred with a Baccaulaureate degree in foods and nutrition from an accredited Canadian University (and can provide transcripts indicating conferred degree), meets all requirements for full registration and is eligible to apply for a registration change from Temporary to General Register.

Information Guide

The College has developed an informative guide on the application and registration process to the General register of the College of Dietitians of Alberta. We encourage all applicants to review the guide prior to commencing the application process.

Application

To be eligible for registration on the General Register, the Temporary registrant must:

  1. Have successfully completed the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination.
  2. Have conferred with a Baccaulaureate degree in foods and nutrition from an accredited Canadian University, or equivalent, and have provided official transcripts indicating conferred degree.

General Register

To be eligible for registration change, the registrant must first complete an Online Application for Registration Change: General Register. Access https://cda.alinityapp.com to complete an application for registration change.

In addition to the online application form, registrants may be required to provide documentation to complete their file with the College. The College has created a Documents for Submission: For Registration Change (Temporary to General Register) resource which includes a checklist and summary of the documentation required for a complete application. Click on the bold link to access the guide.

Any fees associated with providing the required documentation to the College office are the responsibility of the registrant.

Application Timelines

The length of time it takes for an application to be complete and for a registrant to obtain registration on the General Register depends on the length of time it takes for a registrant to submit the required documentation. The College recommends registrants begin the application process as soon as they receive confirmation of successful completion of the CDRE.
